How to tell a parent their child is horrible?

I have eight children that I watch during the day. I have one child who is 20 months and she is the absolute worst child I have EVER had. She throws tantrums and by this I mean she kicks and screams throws herself against anyone and everything, bangs her head on the walls, and it lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours. I have told her mother that she tackles the other children and hits. She steals toys and screams like they hurt her when they didn't. This child screams about EVERYTHING! Lunch, Naptime, Playtime, When it is time to leave, when she hurts someone, I think there might be 40 minutes when she isn't crying and it is because she is sleeping.

If my child was there with that child, I would take her out. What did the mother say when you informed her about her child? I

When I told her what was going on she acts like I did something to make her cry. Why would I do that I can't stand her crying anymore!! Every time that I tell her mother that she was a bully she just picks her up and babies her saying "Oh Olivia, you just want the toy that you want huh" In that baby talk.

I would just tell the parents that due to the fact that their child is disruptive AND a danger to other children (because of her hurting others and throwing), that you can no longer keep her on as someone you watch. Yes it is less money, but it opens a spot up to someone else. You and no one else should have to put up with that, it isn't fair to the other children. You are spending more time with this kid trying to calm her down and they have the risk of getting hurt. Just be honest and do everyone you watch and yourself a favor....tell the parent you just cannot have her there anymore. You don't have to be rude about it. Just explain that you have to think of the safety of the other children and that you cannot devote all your time to one child while the others are not getting the same attention. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks!! I just feel bad for this woman and the kids she is watching. Daycare is supposed to be fun and not something to fear or not want to go to. Hopefully she is able to work things out. And, that little girl gets some help...Nanny 911!! lol

I love doing the daycare and I make it so that everyday we do something new and different and fun. This child makes everyone's day horrible including the children.
