Has any discussion/topic/debate on Mylot ever shocked you? Are you broad minded, does anything shock you any more, or are there things which still amaze you and you can't get your head round? How you come across a discussion where you thought it was a disgusting taboo subject?
I like to think of myself as open minded and nothing tends to shock me - much! As the saying goes 'anything goes' and I've yet to come across a discussion which I've been totally shocked by.

i like to think i am totlly shockproof too.i am very openminded and i try to instill the same into my children.i used to have a friend whom i walked with at lunchtimes. she was very narrowminded and her way was the only way. she was totally getting on my nerves but being the nice person i am , lol, i agreed with her. i would pretend i rarely drink even though i love a great bash every now and again. i would also pretend i never smoked even though i used to. i also would find myself agreeing with her narrowminded views on almost everything. after about 6 months i had had enough so i told her i wasnt walking wth her anymore as work was getting too busy. arent i such a coward ? i was dying to tell her she was the most narrowminded boring eedget on the planet but i couldnt. my best friend is just like me , shes unshockable, openminded and we get on great. i,m glad i dont walk with that girl any more as i can go back to being who i really am and not pretending just so i can fit into her narrow little world

There are a lot of things that amaze me day by day. I don't think of them as shocking things though. They are just amazing. And they are not really grandious or taboo things. They are just simply everyday things that people do.

I don't think I am easily shocked but I am easily embarrassed . It still embarrasses me to read about hings that I think should be kept private and personal , I hate not answering them if my friends have posted the discussions but to be honest I just don't know what to say , I hope they forgive me xx

I have not yet come across any post on myLot that shocked would me. I think I'm open minded. There are things that still warms my heart - the love and kindness of people, a pretty picture. I'm touched and encouraged by how people cope with their lives when they are ill and/or down and out. I'm saddened by wars, cruelty, pettiness, biases, the list goes on. There is much to learn on myLot which is like a mammoth diary of the people of Earth.

No I dont think anything could shock me, I am very broad minded and i dont really have any taboo subjects.
Anything conserning hurting children i may well get angry about but sadly i wouldnt be shocked, too many nasty things have already happened in the world today so nothing could shock me now.
If i didnt like a subject or know nothing about a post i would just pass it by and move onto the next one

I don't think that I have found a topic on here that has shoked me. Not only that, but I think that most of the topics that are close to possible shocking me I believe that most of them are made up. So when I see something that should be shocking, I just kinda laugh it off, because I don't believe it.
I guess I will have to keep on looking.

Nope ! not really. None of the topics/discussions/responses have ever really shocked me. I have to admit, i was surprised when i had joined mylot at first and got one liner responses which didn't even have any link to my question. and sometimes a completly different story. That surprised me but i got used to it and understood the spammers wouldn't really leave us alone and we gotta live with em. No other topic as such has ever shocked me. You can say i am pretty much - shock proof :)

Yes i have been shocked by the discussions a couple times but otherwise it is all normal..
The things that shocked me where the essence of discussion was missing and i saw them more of a personal story or day to day act like serial kind of...
Other than these it pretty much normal and yes i am open minded to many of the topics that i find...

Nothing has shocked me yet in mylot. I am quite broadminded, but I haven't tried answering something just for the heck of it. eeven if the topic is apt to be ambarassing to conservative people, I wouldn't mind reading it or responding to it. But there must be some stuff in the discussion.

I think that my shock factor is a bit reversed from the average.
I have read posts that have shocked or upset me... however, they were usually those that expressed bigotry and intolerance toward gays and lesbians, or sexism.
I'm open-minded, and very live and let live in attitude, so, when others express those sorts of ideas, it usually catches me at a loss.

Their is only about 1 item that shocked...or maybe horrified me on here. That was the 2 year old that was put outside to freeze.

Ohhhh nothing shocks me anymore. I am open minded and people make think they shock me but they do not. I have a habit of when someone tells me something new I open my eyes up really large. Naturally people think they shocked me because they will even ask me Are you shocked ?
In this World I do not think we should be shocked about anything. In my opinion I think it is good to be open minded and not let things shock you.

I haven't yet run across anything that is really shocking, except perhaps for the story about the female student who thinks her female teacher is hitting on her. But then, why be shocked? This appears to be occurring nationwide. It is a sign that society is starting to fall apart. You can tell by the schools. If schools start unraveling, there goes your culture and your future.

Nothing on Mylot has shocked me. I've really lived the kind of life where I have been exposed to a lot of different people with a lot of different ideas and viewpoints. Rarely anything shocks me anymore.

I think the main thing that still shocks me is when you hear about a child being molested/abused/killed in the news. How can someone do something like that to a child?????

Totally unshockable .. broadminded as they come .. !!
But, there are many, many topics I am just not in the bit slightest interested in .. and I just 'switch off' or ignore stuff ..
Sometimes mild curiosity will draw me in to read a little bit of something or watch something .. but I am easily bored with things I have little interest in ...

I actually do get shocked. I did not know that so much hatered and fanatasism can come out of some people. I was truly, truly shocked! I have noticed that it is not as bad as it was for awhile there. But no wonder we have wars!!! I was blown away! Some discussions seemed like they would be a great place to learn about differnet cultures and beliefs, but to share so vehmently. WOW. I guess you can still shock this old bird.

Somewhat, some topics are very alarming to me considering the culture I had been but I'm happy to know that they are open and I appreciate their honesty
