I was quite happily making up some cheese sandwiches, cheddar cheese, for the foodies among us, and Other Half waltzed out and squirted a liberal amount of American mustard all over the cheese. Only one word for that eeeewwwwwwwwwww! Or does anyone else out there like this rather unusual food combination?

I think that a lot of Americans use mustard on most kinds of sandwiches. I would eat a cheddar cheese sandwich with a little bit of mustard.

Yuk, no chance. I don't mind it on ham or anything likr that but cheese? No thanks. Did he eat all as well. Just imagining it, is putting me of my Food, lol. So I am glad that I have already Eaten. Certainly not Cheese and Mustard Sandwiches.

Well, fortunately I am an absolutely WONDERFUL hostess and would always check which combination of sandwich fillers are required by my guests! However, best not tell him that you detest that combination, you know what he is like, will probably make some for himself just for the fun of it, sigh.

Shrek will only have Colmans traditional mustard, it American mustard the sweet runny stuff you get at take-aways? He puts it with anything if he is in the mood. I like piccalilly or farmhouse pickle with cheese, mmmm.

I made hot dogs on sunday and there he was with his colmans, I don't mind the sweet runny stuff, but I dont like Dyjon at all. My dad used to get a little tin and mix the powder with water whne he wanted some, think he gets a jar now. I like to spread some on chicken to cook in the oven, otherwise it's a bit burny for my boys and me. Shrek seems to like having his tongue tingled and not being able to taste me cooking, hmmm there's a thought, lol.

Well I am a staid old thing and I still like Colman's the only mustard that my Parents would have in the house, but my partner really enjoys Picallily and i often buy that for him. Since he also likes hot dogs we also have the American variety here and shortly we are going to try something called Dijon mustard as well, crazy things that we are!

Exactly! The mayo is too rich for me to have every day but I lurve it. Tomato was made to go with cheese, wasn't it. I love this combo in pizzas too.

You too! There are a lot of people saying they like what to me is a bizarre combination! So Other Half isn't as strange as I thought, there is a big, big, surprise. As usual, he is standing here reading over my shoulder, and he asks, "which type of mustard do you use". Honestly, no stopping him with his wierd food binges lol.

Actually YES..most of my high school lunches consisted of cheese and mustard sandwiches, believe it or not! I would wake up..get ready for school...after getting ready, run into the kitchen, 2 slices of white bread, a slice of American cheese and a squirt of yellow mustard..placed in a sandwich bag, thrown in the purse..off to catch the school bus. Quick, easy and didn't spoil. So NO EWWWWW..YUM

Well, each to their own but sorry, not yum to me. I thought he was joking with me and couldn't believe it when he put the mustard on!

I put mustard on most types of sandwiches but not just cheese sandwiches. However, when I was pregnant, I ate quite a few cheese, mustard, and pickle sandwiches. Boy did my husband get a kick out of that one! He'll probably tease me about them forever.

Oh yuk! I am answering this one when he is not watching, just in case he likes that combination. He would, you know! Still that unusual mixture doesn't seem to have done you any harm, so it must be nutritious in some way or other.
