Good grief .. this will give my age away ... Auf Wiedersehen Sweetheart - Vera Lynn. There is something very evocative hearing those old standards isn't there .. the second world war not long over .. rationing was still in force .. not long had the worst winter in living memory in the UK .. utility furniture .. suspender belts .. coal fires and no central heating .. thick peasouper smogs .. milk delivered by horse and cart .. farm crops still being reaped by hand .. and wonderful real ale served in enamel jugs straight from the huge wooden casks .. Sigh .. and all that just from hearing the song that was number one on the day I was born .. I found my song here .. there are many wonderful old songs and new on this web site http://pcdon.com/index.html

Oh dear, it doesn't go back as far as the day I was born. I will have to see if I can find it on another site. It might have been one by Very Lynne singing 'We'll Meet Again' as I was born just as the war ended. I did manage to find on for my eighteenth birthday. It was Lovesick Blues - Frank Ifiled.

Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley, topped the American Charts. This is a cute site. I will have to send it to my email buddies.
