An Italian Robin Hood who stole from a bank and gave the money to the Church has been turned in by clergymen. The thief took £8,000 in a bank robbery in Cagliari, but later went to a church where he handed over a sack full of cash to a priest and ran off. But father Francesco Matta called police, who realised the notes were stolen from the serial numbers. Officers tracked down and arrested the Robin Hood, using a description given by the priest.

I think this guy maybe was obssesed with the movie or book Robinhood stole the money and gave it to the bank. Only he in this case the priest was honest and turned him in not like he expected. I guess robbery is robbery no matter what your motive is.

I think he got scared and wanted to get rid of the loot and thought the chuch would not turn him in and if they did he might also have thought he had paid God a retainer to get him out of it.!!LOL

Everybody has his second chance. Prist should return money and leave Robin Hood alone.

In my opinion the only crime commited here was giving it to the church. They are loaded. This Robin Hood should have gone to the people and handed it to them. Maybe then he would never have been caught.

That is an interesting twist on the Robin Hood theme. Maybe there is going to be a motion picture soon.
