In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoinex our trio goes to St. Mungo's Hospital, were they meet Neville with his Gran and visiting his parents. One of Nevilles parents threw a gum wrapper onthe floor and Neville picked it up and put it in his pocket. Also when you go to J.K's website there is gum wrappers all over her desk and in the trash bin. It seems to me that maybe they are a clue to get Neviles parents out of the hospital. What do you think

This is a very interesting idea. I've never thought about that before, not until I read this post actually. It could mean something, or it could mean nothing more than J.K's gum habit, if she has one. We may never know until we read the last book.

The scene just showed that Neville cares about his mother. She doesn't throw the wrapper on the floor. His mother comes up to him as he and his grandmother are talking to Harry and his friends and want to give it to her, like a gift. His grandmother tells him to throw it away because it is trash but Neville sees it differently. Like Harry he lost his parents when he was a baby. They may still be alive in some sense but they barely know Neville is there. I bet Neville saves every single little scrap his mother gives him because it is all he has of her. I love Neville. He is one of my favorite characters. He has a lot of inner strength. Both him and Harry have been through a lot in their short lives. Neville lost his parents and lives with a loving, although, stern grandmother but he gets none of the attention Harry does. He is thought to be clutzy and a bit of a loser. But he is there at Harry's side at the Ministry at the end of Order. He is destined for great things, I think.
