No. But it's always nice to receive a gift during anniversaries. I, however buy gifts for her each year.

I used to expect to get some kind of surprise on those special days. Now I'd be surprised IF he did something. In the past year we have had a real dinner out twice, once a week AFTER my birthday and once because he wanted me to meet a co-worker. He got me a computer printer two weeks after Christmas but I still don't have the cord to hook it up. It's better than last year though when he didn't give me anything. I try to do special things for him but he doesn't know how to reciprocate. I'll mention things I'd like, leave hints and sometimes even get angry but it does no good. I think men just don't understand the emotional attachment women place on these "tokens of affection".

I like receiving gifts and used to expect it but I don't anymore. He never really gave me many gifts when we were dating either. We've been married for 5 years now and he gives me less then he ever did. I don't like to complain but it would be nice to get something every once in a while. No matter how much I've hinted or straight out told him he still doesn't think of giving me thing. I've told him that a handmade card or a single flower handpicked or bought would be fine....just enough to surprise me every now and then.
