no.. its in a balance.. the corruption scandals create breaking news.. and the television industry makes the most of it and generates revenue... oh man what am i sayin@#@#$@#

it is a major pullback if not the only one. but the point is that wherever humans exist corruption also will. what matters is the level of corruption. high level politicians are power hungry and hence corrupt everywhere. but what really pulls india back is the low level corruption where even the janitor asks for a bribie to do his job.furthermore our inherent tolerance and apathy towards this low level corruptio makes the situation even worse and is the biggest hindrance to our progress.

of course....the anti-corruption buerou also bribes...about 70% of the govt.employees bribes...
