Does any one use NFP? Natural Family Planning? If so, do you know if it is effective if you do not ovulate for long periods of time and your hormones are out of whack?

I have used NFP. I am very irregular and it has been helpful. I have gone 40 days without ovulating. I take my temperature with a basal metabolic thermometer and try to gauge mucous, though I'm not very good at that part.
Contact the Couple to Couple League. They teach NFP and may be able to help. www.ccli.org
Your local Catholic church should also have some contact information.
I know someone with a hormone imbalance, ovarian cysts, and endometreosis. She was in frequent pain, started using NFP, changed her diet, and is feeling much better. She recently found a doctor who supports NFP in this type of situation. Due in part to her charting, this doctor was able to diagnose her and prescribe medicine for her hormone imbalance. She had tried others but had negative side effects.
Anyway, she started by contacting the Pope Paul VI institute. www.popepaulvi.com
They use the Creighton model FertilityCare system. www.creightonmodel.com
Someone near you probably teaches this.
