I installed Mandriva Linux distribution and I'm very happy of it. It is simple to install and to use. Mandriva uses rpm packages and so you can find and install new software very easily. It's not very fast but I like it.

I am using Mandriva Spring 2007, which is an excellent system. I have 3 hard drives, so I also use Windows XP and Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. I tend to use Windows more than the other 2, but I actually prefer Mandriva and am starting to use it more as I am becoming more accustomed to it.

Since you have been using Mandriva 2006 before, what are the advantages of upgrading to Mandriva 2007. I am still using the 2006 version and very reluctant to upgrade.

Mainly Mandriva 2007 is more stable, has a newer kernel and new and upgraded software. Moreover, Mandriva 2007 supports desktop 3D like Beryl, XGL, AIGLX and Metisse. However, I think you can wait until Mandriva 2008 is out, they say Mandriva 2008 will be available on the second half of September.

I am using have been using Mandrake/Mandriva for over 2 years now. Currently, I have Mandriva 2006. I am happy with it too. It has been rated the best distribution last year on TUX magazine.

I'm using Ubuntu Feisty and loving it. Will try Mandriva too, thanks for mentioning it.
