Right from my young days I have been having coffee in the morning. Nowadays I find it difficult to do any work without having my cup of coffee. Would you call it addiction to coffee? If so what can I do to get out of this habit?

I love coffee. On weekends I usually have a pot of cofee in the morning. During the work week however I only have 2 or 3 cups a day. So I don't NEED alot but I sure do like it!

I work in a coffee shop, and i have my morning regulars and it is amazing how grumpy they get the longer they have to wait for thier coffee, it is not like they are in a hurry they are the sit down and sip, read the paper for an hour in the morning customers, but my god hide if they have to wait more then a min for their first cup of "Joe" in the morning. P.S. if you get it for them quick the higher the tip.

I think you got it there Crashkattie. People don't seem to be able to wait for their coffee don't they? even if they want to linger around sipping it for an hour or so.

I am so hopelessly addicted to coffee. But, if it does not poorly effect your lifestyle, why would you have to get out of the habit? Yes, it is an addiction. And depending upon how long and how much coffee you drink, you will get headaches, and confusion and restlessness when you quit. If you have to or really want to quit the coffee, start by going to a 1/2 caffine, 1/2 decaf cup in the morning. and then just lower it. Or, try to add caffine in another form (soda I guess) I would never try to live my life without coffee.

I'm not sure it's an actual addiction. It's just something you have gotton used to. I have always said you can be addicted to anything you like alot. The real addiction to coffee is the caffein. If you want to find out if you're actually addicted, try going a whole weekend just drinking decafe. I tryed itand didn't get any headaches or nothing.I feel like I can't go without a morning cup of coffee in the morning but sometimes on the weekend I actually do. In fact I havn't had one yet this morning.

I would have to say your suffering with caffiene addiction. The only way out of it is to wein yourself off by drinking half and half, meaning part decaf and caffinated. I drink coffee all day and if I miss my morning of coffee, I end up with a huge headache. Good luck.

Yes I believe, in a way, it's coffee addiction. Caffeine which is the main ingredient of coffee (and other softdrinks) has an addictive potential. But if you're only having coffee just once, particularly in the morning, I dont think it's that addictive. U just need something to perk up that early. Just don't take too much or you'll get nervous the whole day.

We're adults and we need coffee. Or do you want to do calisthenics in the morning every day like the japanese? I didn't think so!
