Here are a couple of stupid things that people have done in the last week that I have heard about... 1) A 70 year old man decided to show off and go karting. He ended up in the hospital with a broken arm, injured shoulder, and other various injuries and along with this, his blood pressure and sugar got messed up and he ended up with pnemonia. All for the glory of recapturing his youth. 2) A man in a local city went out to warm up his car, strapped his child into his car seat and went back into the house for some papers. Duh, his van got stolen...fortunately, the theif abandoned the van shortly after and no harm came to the child. Come on people, THINK!

To add to this discussion. As a long distance trucker, I've seen a disturbing trend not necessarily with the younger crowd, but 8 out of 10 will be in their 20's. What am I talking about? People who drive with their left foot resting up on the dash. This may seem trivial. But one day I was truckin through Kansas State on I-35. Beautiful sunny afternoon, talking on the CB with a fellow driver, when a young lady drove past me in the above mentioned position. Mean while she didn't know that I had been follow a 3 ton truck who at the time was causing me grief with speeding up & slowing down. Long story short. The 3 ton shot across 2 lanes (no signal) and turned into the median to head back from wence he came, cutting off the young lady causing her into the median. Here's where you have to have good "Dukes of Hazard recall." The young lady hit the cross-over that the 3 ton turned onto to head back west and she went air born. She regained control of her Ford Explorer just on the left shoulder of the westbound side, she eased herself back through the median and back onto the east bound side. Of course it happened so fast I was watching most of this from my drivers side mirror as I zoomed by. The young lady drove by me alittle more slower but her foot was back on the dash probably trying to act as though it was just another day on the hwy. I seriously believe the jerk in the 3 Ton truck had no idea he almost caused a major wreck. I also learned that I need to pay more attention out there, because I was yaking on the CB and all of that happened in about 10 seconds or less and started right in front of me. Had it happened on the road and not in the median, I would never have gotten STOPPED! PS This happened many years ago and I remember it like it was yeasterday.

Not always , do we see such stupidity , but still there are times when we are carried away, we try to do things we think is apt, end up in hurting ourselves to the dismay of our family members and put them in trouble in the form of money, time and caring too.Young or old they are always under the care of the strong as a renowned poet once put it.Sometimes it is other way round where the youngaand the old help the strong too.We have to take life as it is,but still throwing cautions to the wind is always a botheration to all of us.
