When are we allowed to cut and paste in mylot?

Hey its not ur star rating its the number of points next to ur name like i have something like 477 or something when you reaches that point you are allowed to add picture to your posts and also allowed to cut and paste ur own work

Hi, I don't know if you're aware of this but if you get information from the internet, off a website for example, you shouldn't cut and paste the information anyway. Written text is the copyright of it's author - you'd need their permission beforehand to cut and paste it elsewhere. Unless you've re-written a response in your own words from information you've obtained you should simply put a link to the source of the information in your answer and not reproduce any of it otherwise you'll be breaching someone's copyright and this is something that Mylot (and website owners like myself) take very seriously. I would imagine that the reason Mylot doesn't allow 'new' people to cut and paste is because they're probably unaware that it's not the right thing to do. Obviously, the longer you've been here the more likely you are to be aware of the do's and don'ts and are therefore less likely to cut and paste anything that is someone else's copyright.

It does not have anything to do with your star rating. Can you see some numbers next to your name. That is what is called as points. Whenever your points reach 500, you will be able to copy and paste and you will be allowed to add pics to each replies you make. Also I have one more tip to copy and paste. Try to use Opera browser coz in Opera browser, you can copy 4 words and paste before reaching 500.

As i know it is not depending on how long you stay at the forum, when you rate more than 500 you will be able to cut and paste on mylot. It is just to avoid people to SPAM everywhere on mylot.com . Just discussion, waiting, and rating and you will be able to paste as soon as possible. Mary
