Do you know any true stories or facts from The Great Depression?

im not sure if any of my family members went threw it or not. im sure they did i just dont here nothing about it because it was very hard times. i did however find this site if your interested. its got a whole lot of facts and stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Depression

Our Family ranch was already established at this time. My great grand parents had been very frugal immigrants and did not have any debt load. My grandparent had already married and were living here as well. Many of the farms went bankrupt due to debts because of drought and debts from before the depression. Many area farmers just left, abandoning family farms. My great grandfather bought some farms to try and help out some of the families. They had the option to pay them back at the prices that they were purchased for . Some families stayed and others still left. The construction of a new road saved the rest of the farms in the area.
