Do you feel your online and real life personalities differ? In what way? Do you feel more able to express yourself online? Or in real life?

I would say it is easier to express myself online just because I don't have to worry about what I say that it might hurt the feelings of someone I care about as I know they won't see anything I put down . It is also easier to take the time to think about what you want to say before you type it .

I think I find that as well. It's interesting because even if we are hurt by the words of another online, there is so much time in order to form a response. You cannot see the initial reaction of a person and they can't see yours.

I feel like it is easier to express myself in writing in general more than by talking, and since most of online interaction is in writing that makes it easier. In some ways, I think I'm more like the person I am online is very much the person I am with close friends and family. I'm open and talkative, and pretty easygoing. When I am around relative strangers in real life, I tend to be nice but much more quiet and reserved.
