Would you like to increase your earnings at mylot? Have you checked out the rules? Most of us looked at them when we first got started, but have you been there lately? There have been a few changes. Take a look and see how to do it right. Then you can increase your earnings by not having posts deleted. You can view them by scrolling up to the top, look in the right corner, you see the word mylot? Click there to see guidelines for discussions, guidelines for posting pictures, more about friends, earnings, messages, as well as FAQ. Or here is the link, http://www.mylot.com/o/mylot.aspx Did you know these guidelines? Do you follow them?

Yes, I read the rules every other week and it doesn't matter. I am still having posts deleted and can't understand why. I never use inappropriate language, do all my own answers and never a one or two word answer. My posts have all been answers, no questions and I have received no violations notices. If the questions were in violation, I can't see how. For example, these are some of the questions I answered that were deleted: When to start solid foods? (this was regarding a baby) Recipe for potato soup? What do you call a turtle without a shell? Is a cruise a good vacation? How do you deal with migraines? If you can find a violation in any of those, I'd sure like to know what it was. The constant removal of my answers has made me cut way back on mylot. In fact, I joined mylot after I had attracted a troll on another site. I have returned to the other site since they told me they have dealt with my troll. Also, I answer mostly medical questions (I am a nurse) and I was one of 25 people out of 17 million users who received a "category excellence" award for my answers to medical issues. At least there, I don't face constant deletions without any explanation. In fact, I am a rules follower so have never ever had an answer deleted from that site.

LOL...need to clarify...25 people did not receive awards in the medical category. It was 25 people total (covering all categories) who got an award.

I checked out your profile and see that you take time to give good answers.I do not see why you would have had comments deleted or why your rating is only a 3. I would think that maybe the discussions are being deleted, because they are repeats or copy/paste of another, or is it only your comments? I would pm mylot and ask. I see that you give good answers to good questions, and can not see any violations. I assume these are not OLD discussions that only got deleted because of thier age because you have only been a member for 5 months and I've seen older discussions. I do not understand a lot about the way they do things here, but feel that reading the regulations can help alot of people if they will read them.

ilse, I can't say this for sure but you may want to consider that your posts have been lost, not because there is anything wrong or inappropriate about YOURS, but that they may have followed another post or posts that violated myLot's guidelines. Several online communities that I work with use a structure where it is entirely beyond the moderators' control that some good replies get deleted - swept out with the bad, basically. It's not always possible to pick and choose which ones stay and which ones go. I'm thinking that's what happens here, too. If I see a post that violates their posted guidelines, I usually won't post after it because it seems futile to spend time on a response that is destined to disappear. I just wanted to post this to you in the hope of making you feel more at ease and less "targeted" ... it sounds like you have the best of intentions in posting and that's a really nice thing. :) Have a lovely day!

I think for me to make money on myLot I would need to spend much more time. I just don't have it. I try to use myLot when I'm already online doing something else, but sometimes I drop in just to see how the discussions are going. Too many times I walk away thinking I have just spent too much time today.

Only half the time? I always feel like I have spent to much time! I think you do fine on not breaking the rules. This is for newbies and people who are here for the $$ and not the friends, discussions, and fun.

It helps to remember that rules do change sometimes, and I try to keep up with the changes, but do forget to look, I try to follow the rules as much as I can, but it can be difficult to interpret some rules, especially when MyLot is international and not everyone has English as a second language, even with English as a first language, Americans, Australians and English could all put different meanings to some of the rules.

Thanks for the reminder. I did read all the info when I joined. I had forgotten though. I try to follow the rules. I always try to follow rules no matter where I am or what I am doing. I know some people dont follow rules and I never did understand that becuase rules are made for our protection and enjoyment.

Thanks for reminding us Tammy. It's good to review the rules now and then.
