I've been married for 17 years and it's no big deal anymore. We usually exchange card and that's about it. I get a box of candy for the kids. It's more of a big deal for them because they celebrate it at school.

No, I do not celebrate Valentine's Day, I never have, for me its just another day. I always think that it is strange to have a day dedicated for people to say I love you and give presents, I mean shouldn't this happen all the time, not just for one day, I think it's an opportunity for businesses to exploit people and it's way too commercialized for my liking. I've never given a Valentine's Card and equally I have never received one.

I understand what you mean, but it's also nice to get something special once in a while.

We have been married 23 years and we still mark anniversarioes and Valenines. We include the kids and it is a big deal for all of us. Go out to eat and our choice of treats for Valentines. Anniversay is a good meal out all together and a cake. Making memories for us and the kids as examples of things they can do for their future lives.

That's great that after so many years you still do that. We usually go out with the kids for our anniversary, but this year we didn't do anything. If I don't make the plans, nothing happens. My husband would never plan on doing anything.

Sometimes it's just nice to spend some quiet time at home alone also. It's nice that you do something like that.

I have been with my husband for 8 years and we celebrate by getting each other a not so costly gift and card and take the family to dinner. We also get are girls something cute like a stuffed animal ect. They are 3 and 5. My oldest one will be having a valentines party at school. I remember when I was little my parents never got me anything for valentines day and I would hear the girls tell me what their daddies bought them and it hurt. So I will always get my girls a lil something to show my love. Thats what this day is all about love....love....love....

Yeah, I think it is more special for the kids. My parents never got me anything either, but I always get my boys something. My oldest is 15 and he still enjoys getting something.
