i posted a controversial issue here 2 days ago and i now regret posting it. i think, about 50 people have been bashing me for my inaction. i am from the philippines, we are a predominantly catholic community and we still have strong religious ties and beliefs. we believe in helping each other, be it a stranger or a friend and that's why we've been known to be hospitable people. of course we've come to be wary of strangers, too, but basically, we are kindhearted and easily moved by those in need. more importantly, we've never lost faith in the goodness of each person. no matter how badly packaged a person is, we still give him a second chance. that's why, i can't believe why people out there, westerners, mostly (sorry), are so quick to judge and render their judgment even without weighing everything out. even in the way they deliver their judgment, they're so unkind and so hateful! kind of like simon in american idol? has kindness gone totally out of style? have we no hope anymore? it's so sad, really!

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with your other plog entry, joshdale. I agree with you that people are growing almost hardened to the plight of others. Maybe it is partly due to the rush, rush, of our modern lifestyle. Or perhaps it is because we don't take time to experience really knowing anyone anymore. I'm sure that greed and selfishness also enter in. Whatever you do, don't join those that are making you feel sad. Continue to stand up for what you believe is right, even if a thousand people bash you. In fact, the more people that bash you, the more likely it is that you are the one who is right and that they don't like what they are doing to be pointed out as wrong. I hope you don't let them chase you away. We need more people to stand up for what is right.
