How do you displine your children?

I been living in my childhood in a strict condition.When I say strict condition is just like your in a military boot camp.My father is a strict guy and when I made a mistake surely punishment will follow like a whip with a black leather belt and to top in all a long play of sermon I'll take.Just to behave and not doing it again and straightmy path to become a good citizen. Sometime in my childhood days I always taught that my father doesn't like me and me hate me ,wish I could trade my father for a nice one.Now I'm a parent now I see what the feeling to be a parent.When you see your children did something wrong youmust impose punishment so that they know what is right and wrong, that's now I realized that what my father did to me is simple teaching me what is wrong and what is right.Now here in america children are behaving badly they can control theur parent to things that they want. Hopefully my children don't behave like the kids now,coz i displine them the way my father displine me but not whipping them on their butt a leather belt but alot of understanding ,love and respect to them.I'll threat them nice and respect.So that you'll earn respect and love from them.How you you displine you children?
