FIXED MARRIAGE - the most recent problem of my bestfriend. SHe have a boyfriend but her parents doesn't like the guy. Instead, their parents want another guy for her to marry. Though this 'another guy' is kind, smart, good looking, she doesn't want to leave her boyfriend. She said that her parents' decision are final and she can do nothing about it. Any pieces of advice?

Fixed marriage , what can i say .... It's there something else to say but NO ? It's one of the most disgusting thing that a parent can do to her daughter or son ! Let me tell you what would i do if i was in you're girlfriends position ! First of all , i would brake any discutions with them , second of all , i'll start being a trouble maker , and blame every bad thing that i do on this fixed marriage saying "I'm not acting foolish and childish , i'm just enjoing the few moments of liberty that i've got left " ! 3rd of all , the final step , if nothing work , i would run away from home ! Make them see how important it is for me to bee with this guy ! BUT !!!! Read this carfully , i don't know where you live , i don't know what are youre countrys customs and i don't know how you're best friends parents are , this is simply my opinion and what y would do if i would be in youre friends position ! Do i desirve best response ? ;;) Have a nice day

i know a friend with this kind of situation recently. its hard because they dont love each other and they have different cultures. they have language barriers and its hard for them to communicate, and most of all the age gap is around 20 years.

I am not in favor of fixed marriage. That's what I'm encountering right now because my boyfriend's mom want her son to marry the daughter of her best friend which my boyfriend doesn't like. Actually we are in a complicated situation now. My bf lose his material thing for my sake. His mom even got mad at him and ignored him. She can still decide whom to marry because it is her who get married and who love, its not her parents. If you don't love the person that you will marry then married is nothing, there will be instances that the girl or boy looks for someone else. She can fight her love for his boyfriend or even talk to the person whom her parents want to marry her.
