Im having a problem with my cars lights. Someone told me that it could be the switch on the steering column. I need some opinions here before I put the money out to fix it. Here's whats goin on.....1st, the headlights stopped working. I had bright lights, no dim lights. Had to pull the switch back and rig it to stay there to have lights at night. (Alot of people were mad out there cause I couldn't dim my lights, lol) Then, all of a sudden, they started working again on their own. 2nd, when the lights were off, I had brake lights. When the lights were on, I did NOT have brake lights. That has also fixed itself. Now, when the lights are on, I have brake lights, but no tail lights. So, I am not able to drive it at night, unless I ride my brakes, which is not good at all. Also, the brake lights tend to switch on and off, when the lights are off...meaning, when the brakes are on, sometimes the left side is out, and sometimes the right side is out. The brake light in the middle doesn't work at all. Also, the turn signals don't work. They come on, but I have to manually blink them. This is a 1992 Chevy Cavalier. The switch is on the left side of the steering column and controls the cruise, the lights, and the turn signals. The wires seem to be in good condition, and the light bulbs are all good as well. Now, if I haven't just majorly confused all of you, does anybody know if I was told right? Is it just the switch that can cause all these problems? Or is it something completely different?

try replacing the bulbs, if one bulb is broke it can make the other ones go crazy (this is my fiance telling me this, I asked him, he is pretty good at this stuff).. he said also it could be wires touching inside of a bulb and it will make it do that... he says, also it could be a fuse.. but he says that what they said about that it could be the switch on the steering column. he says that is possible too..

Well, thanks for the response. As I said, the wires and bulbs are all good. I've checked the fuses, and they are fine as well. Its already looking more like the switch. Thanks for the input. :)
