I really don't think that Jade was being a racist. She was being extremely rude, but I really don't think she's clever enough to begin to think about a racist remark! She is just so ignorant, that she doesn't understand anyones culture/up bringing/ way of life..far too thick to try a stab at racial discrimination! Even if she truly was a racist, and I really don't think that she is, and I'm certainly not a Jade Goody Fan!, she isn't articulate enough to put her views across. Just a sad little girl really, who doesn't understand how other people live their lives.

Hear hear! I can't help but feel, however, that Shilpa jumped to the racist conclusion straight away. Given, imitating an accent in a way that may be deemed offensive could be seen as an insult to one's culture, and thus become a racist act. However, Shilpa did seem to jump to this conclusion fairly quickly, and never really considered any other possible reasons - silly, stupid Jade; alternative sense of humour.
Also, I think the whole thing escalated completely out of hand. Gordon Brown was in India at the time, so clearly, this was a cheap political point for him to defend all the multiculturalist views of the UK, thus deeming the comments to be racist.

i dont think jade was racist. the whole argument about dinner got out of proportion with jade directing nasty words at shilpa, but shilpa did give it back as good as she got! even when shilpa won she said jade was not a racist an that was her message across to the whole world. through jades big mouth shilpa won. these days there is a lot of problems regarding racism in this world. if anyone thinks jade was being racist then well what do u say about jermaine callin whites white trash?? isnt that racist? i think it is
