Taking notes

Do you take notes on the day the photo was taken? So that later when you're ready to scrapbook you have the notes ready and you don't have to try to remember what happened when the photo was taken? The January issue of CK magazine had some great photo organizing tips and note taking ideas. I'm not so good at keeping up with this. Before I scrapbooked I would write down on the back of the photo where I was and what happened. But I know that'll come back to haunt me as i'm sure the pen will come through the photos. I really have to start organizing my photos and stories though. How about you?

I am one of those people who is practically cursed with a photographic/auditory memory (and a muscle memory too if you're talking dance!)... so it is typical of me to go by memory.

I'm AWFUL about that! Alot of times, I can't even remember how old she was (how many months)! I guess I should be taking notes, but I take pictures all throughout the day and there really isn't anything going on!

I do also. It's good though for layouts about the month...just add a bunch of miscelaneous photos together.

I have the same problem, sometimes I just can't remember when a piture was taken.... That would be very useful for me to write it all down, but I do never take time to do this... I now have a digital camera so all my pictures land on the computer.... I have found a nice program to scrapbook my pictures on the pc...and I can print them out and stick in a photobook :) Happy scrapping!

Sounds interesting. I always have to go back to the properties of the photo on my computer to find out when it was taken.

I don't usually take notes about the pictures. If I'm taking pictures just because I already have in mind what kind of layout I'm going to create then I'll take notes. But other then that I don't.

I think the best tip I give to my customers and to all scrapbookers is this. Get one of those little notebooks they fit well in your purse, I call it my photo book. That way when a photo opportunity or event comes you have a notebook in your purse. Take a minute perhaps the drive home or during lunch to write down some thoughts and feelings about the day all with the generals of course date, place etc. I then either tear out the pages or mark them with what Cd I burned those pictures onto, so they are easy to put together at a later time. This is not only good for scrapbooking but also just for memory perserving in general. How many of us are going to end going through box after box of unmarked photos when our parents die?
