Have we all gone mad? Do we not care anymore about those who are around us? My mother broke her foot about two weeks ago and do you think someone would actually help her out while she is shopping or going in and out of doors to appointments? No, not really. They have "other" agendas and arrands. They are too busy doing that they have no spare two minutes to open a door or help get her to a wheel cart. We as humans have become fast paced in life and we seem to live in bubbles of our own world due to the fact that we don't trust those around us. Not even the injured. I live in a small town where most people know one another, but these things took place in the city. Their lives revolve around some "must do, must stay busy" thing. They ignore those who are weakened by illness or injury as if it may be contagious. It is so sad. People today should just slow down. Take it easy. Relax. The world doesn't revolve around us, the world revolves with us. So ignoring those who need assistance (such as my mother with her broken foot) we ignore our own health as well. Living by the stress clock and busy schedules that never slow down have a tendicy to kill us off at early ages. We used to be able to live longer but this fast pace life has us living to be no more than 60 years of age. That is young compared to the lady in France who is 124 years old! (name with held due to her protection). We should stop being so rude and self centered and pushy. We should turn to the little things in life that we treasure. The more we go faster the more prices go up - taxes increase - more everything. Stop. Smell the roses because they won't be around in the future to enjoy. People and life, we need to slow it down. I'm not saying "lets be lazy". I'm just saying, we need to find time to be more gentle to those around us that can't be fast.

I couldn't agree with you more, and if it's any consolation, had I been somewhere and seen a woman or man in need, I wouldn't hesitate to help them. There are a lot of people who feel similarly, and our voices are coming out more and more often. I think we need to slow down and take a look around us, take note of what's actually going on in the world because we'd be really surprised to see there are people everywhere. It's like people have become nothing more than the typed passages we read and respond to on the internet and the bodiless voices on the other line of our cell phones. I'm not saying technological advances haven't done wonders for our lives, but are we really enjoying them?

we need to give the love that is taught by God to those around us and learn to make family and community the center of our lives. I think we have put to much into our careers when they are not really what sustain us.

It is just that we need to be considerate of others and help when we can not allow people to suffer because we wont take the time to be humane. I also think we need to make more sacrifice to assist family and not put them in the position to always provide for themselves. It makes us better people to do for others.
