Buying a big house on the corner of a busy intersection.

Would you pay $500,000 for a house that sits on the corner of a pretty busy intersection? There is this one road not too far away from me that has this huge house on the corner of an intersection that has a lot of traffic. I would not buy a huge house like that on a corner as I would rather have a house like that in a more private area away from the main roads. Somebody did buy it but would you buy one there? To me it does not make sense for a builder to make such a big house on the corner of an intersection like that.

I would not buy it especially if I had children. Besides I am a country girl and I think the noise of the traffic would make me crazy. That's alot of cash to spend on a house without much privacy. It sounds like it would be better situated on an acreage.

It made me scratch my head when I saw this huge house on the corner there. It did not make sense to me and wondered why myself would a big family want a house there near the road if they had kids. I would want a more private and quiet area. it would be a nice house in the country somewhere or in a neighborhood away from the main roads.

I personally would not do it. However, there is always a buyer for everything, if they feel the price is right to them.

You are definitely right my dear friend that there is always a buyer for everything. I wonder how long they will live there after hearing all the cars going by and everything else. :-)

Well. Ken...Honestly, I wouldnt be happy in a house that costs so much money..$500,000 is so much..I would much rather a house that cost under 100,000 in a quiet setting but not so far away from society that one has to fly a plane to get to the local store;) +

Even if I was wealthy, I would not need such a big house. If I did have a big house like that, I would want in an area where I would have privacy and not hear the traffic and noises. I like a more peaceful surrounding. Very true about not being too far away. I would want to live in a neighborhood but not near the main roads.

No way. However big the house is. Living near an intersection is just too noisy and I wouldn´t like to breath in the contaminated air every time I opened a window or went to sit on the balcony or veranda. You mentioned that somebody bought it. There you go, it takes all sorts.

I would not either...lol I don't understand why they would do that either unless they think the land will eventually become commercial and they can make offices out of it sice its such a busy intersection.. then it would be worth three times the amount they spent to build it if not even more...

Every time that I drive by that house, I keep wondering who would buy a huge house like that on a busy road. LOL I would not do that for sure. I am sure the house is very nice on the inside and everything but I want peace and quiet and a safer place for my kids to play around.

No way! it is so dangerous living near intersections like that! No house is worth the aggrevation. I would prefer a house that is no where near any dangerous intersections.

I agree that it is dangerous living on an intersection corner as I car could control and find its way into your house or car parked in the driveway. It would not be safe for your kids to be running around near the roadway either.
