What is your favourite proverb?

War does not determine who is right, war determines who is left. A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. You don't know what you have until it's gone. Those are some of my favorite proverbs. There are so many goods ones. It will be interesting to see what other people post.
