I realize this is a controversial topic for many, but what are your thoughts and opinions on how ready the nation is for a black president? Aside from that, how ready would we be for a black democratic president?

Black, white, what's the difference. I care a lot more about a politician's record and intentions than his skin color. I am sure there are some who sould disagree, but those people are now few and far between. So, what is the percentage of Americans that are black, maybe 1 in 8. So, every eight president on average should be black. Considering that there has not yet been a black president, I think it is bound to happen sooner rather than later. I'm not that old, so I am not sure what the sentiments were 8 presidents ago. I am assuming that there was a significantly lower chance at that time of a black president. So, mathematically, I'd put it at one of the next three. Considering that the average president is in office for ~6.5 years, I would be willing to bet that some time in the next 20 years we will have a black president elected. Maybe it will be in 2008.

correction, the overall average of president length of service is actually ~5years. If you just take the last dozen, you come up with 6.25. O well, I think I'll still stick to my "sometime in the next 20 years" prediction.

If you are referring to Mr Obama. I think VOTE 1 OBAMA. He gave it to our P.M. (Glorius leader John Howard) good and proper. I just saw Mr. Obama's response to comments by Australian Prime Minister John Howard on FOX.

Yeah that's who I was referring to. But the question was just meant in general. I understand your point!
