Pepper Grinder - grinding fresh pepper
I love fresh ground pepper. My personal preference is the black pepper but I think that's just because that's what I grew up knowing. I love McCormick's 3 pepper grinder which combines black, white and I believe red pepper into one. Makes a totally unique flavor.!

I use the black pepper mostly, but I think that they taste exactly the same. The white pepper is good if you're making something like a cream sauce or other sauce where you don't want the flecks of pepper to be visible. I also use white pepper in chicken salad, so you don't see the pepper specks.

I see, so the white pepper blends in. You find the taste the same then. Thanks for your response.

I think you will like it. Some people use it because they don't want to show the black pepper like in potato salad but I always found that the white pepper has a nice zing to it. Let me know how you like it after you buy it. Thanks.

I like ground black pepper for most foods. I like the white pepper more for foods like fish, egg salad, things like that. Someone mentioned the McCormick grinder with the three peppers in it. Try it, it is very nice. Good question...Take care...

I think the black papper have a sharp flavor, the white pepper you can use in special recepies, and also people who's on soft, bland, renal diets and if the patient like to have a pinch of pepper I will give them white pepper.

Well, I guess it is true; you do learn something new every day. I have used black pepper, and red pepper, but never heard of white pepper before. It sounds really exotic. Thanks for adding to my admittedly meager stash of knowledge.

Years ago I went to a lecture on vegetarian cooking and healthy living. One thing that stayed in my mind to this day is the lecturer saying that our bodies don't digest black pepper as well as we do red pepper. Black pepper is apparently processed - it is not natural. Since then, black pepper has taken a back seat in my cupboard. I use white, red and lemon pepper most often. My family doesn't seem to notice the difference but they do use black pepper at the table.

Really, thank you so much for this info because I am a black pepper freak, goes on everything. I think I'll pick up some white pepper now, like you said it's better to digest.
