We all remember our childhood days and our favorite toys and friends. What was your favorite candy? (hehe, this may date a few of us!)

I just read the previous post and I don't think that they even had sour patch candy when I was a kid- now I'm really dating myself! Do you remember those little colored sugary dots that came on strips of paper? I don't know what they were called, but they were all lined up in rows? I loved them! Also pixie sticks (especially grape). I don't know if they're still around, because I avoid the candy aisle at the store these days. Oh, one last thing- those little wax things that you broke off the top and they had that sweet syrupy stuff inside? Those were great, also.

Swedish Fish are just gummy type candy in the shape of fish. They are a little firmer than Gummy Bears. I love Swedish Fish but I really do not like Gummy Bears.

Gosh I am so old I can't even remember all te different kinds of candy we had. I think I liked the candy necklaces though. I do remember we could get a dime from our grandfather and go to the corner store and buy a whole number 2 bag full of candy. Some it cost like 2 for a penny. Now I feel real old!

Yes, I remember penny candy too, a dime went a long way. I remember gazing into the displays and taking forever to decide what exactly I wanted. Now there is nothing that one can buy with a penny.

I loved Black jacks and Fruit Salad chews as they were only half a penny, which no longer exists. Also, Curly Whirley's and bazooka bubble gum that came in a long strip. One of my all time favourites that my kids love is a Drumstick, full of sugar, rots your teeth and puts you on a high for a few hours, What more could a kid want!!!!

I used to always get a drumstick from the barber after he cut my hair. There was a little drawer at his table that was always full of them.

I just remembered... Candy Lipstick.. oh how I love that. I think I got my first one at about 6 when my friends and I went to "Irene's" it was a tiny little store a few houses away from the school. My friends introduced me to them. I quickly got hooked...lol I don't know what the flying saucer things are called.. I'll see what I can find out. I'm getting rather curious myself. I know they still make them.

I had a sweet tooth growing up. I always loved those pixie sticks filled with that sweet and tangy powder. Another fav was MacIntosh Toffee. I came in a bar and pulled out teeth and fillings while you chewed it. You can still get those marshmallowy bananas, I even got my kids addicted to those. oops! I still buy them when I can find them.

I loved pixie stix too Ally! I never had a MacIntosh Toffee...sounds delish! I had something that sounds like it was about the same thing...I loved Charleston Chews! They were dark chocolate over a thick/chewy caramel, which as you said, pulled out teeth and fillings! I liked the marshmellow bananas too! We have very similar tastes!!

I absolutely loved those sour gummi worm things. Any brand would do. Heck I still get them whenever I get the chance now. Sour patch kids would definitely have to be a close second though. Those things are seriously addicting for me. But I ate pretty much any gummi candy I could get my hands on.

DOTS. Me and my cousins loved DOTS. I'm not talking about those gummy ones you can buy at the movie theaters. LOL im going to show my age now. Im talking about those sugar made colored dots that they use to drop on a piece of like white wax paper and you had to run them under the water to get them off the paper. That was i think one of my favorites. That and Non-Peralise if i spelled that correctly. LOL I noticed you haven't approved my friend's request. I'd really like to be your friend.

When I was a kid I was crazy for Pez. (I think it was the cute little dispensers more than the candy, lol.) Whenever I see one of the old Pez dispensers I'm immediately taken back to my childhood.

Oh yes, I remember Pez, they were a good candy! As you say, I think manipulating the dispenser was half the fun of eating PEZ...what a great marketing strategy!

Ohh I was a candy junkie when I was a kid. We had a little market a few streets over from my street and in the summer I would raid the penny jar and walk down there to buy a bag of candy. I loved all the candy! Abba-Zabba's, Chik-o-Sticks, Wax Bottles, Rootbear Barrels, Mary Janes, Bit o' Honey, M&M's, Milky Ways, Snickers, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Twix, Hershey's with Almonds, Fruit Chews, Laffy Taffy, Boston Baked Beans, Lemonheads, Junior Mints, Milk Duds, Mike-N-Ike's, Sugar Daddy's, Sugar Babies, York Peppermint Patties, Baby Ruth's, Rollo's, Jaw Breakers, Raisinettes, Goobers, Tootsie Rolls... the list could go on forever! I wasn't picky but I remember when the sour stuff first came out with those Sour Patch Babies and the Garbage Pail Kids - I'm not a sour candy kind of girl so I never liked those.
