Taking a Bath Daily

In my country, it is really thought unsanitary if you missed to take a shower. People often make you a butt of all jokes if they knew you missed your bath. I've heard that in some countries it's perfectly normal not to take a bath daily. I myself can't imagine how it felt not to be shower for 3 straight days! I even feel uncomfortable when I miss one day, what more if 3 days? What is your opinion regarding this?

I cannot take a bath daily because I have a deficiency of oil in my skin. I was told by a dermotologist that if I were to take a bath every day I should do so in such a manner not to deprive my skin of the natural oils. If I insisted then I should take precautions by purchasing expensive products that would replace the natural oils. I take what we used to call "spit" baths.....I hit the "vulnerable" areas so as not to "disturb" the environment. I have found that this has not been unhealthy as I have not been to a doctor in almost 25 years, have had no analyses taken, and at the age of 71 I am the epitomy of health. In my opinion those who take baths/showers more than once a day lacks a sense of water conservation. Of course, I have to admit that those who live in tropical environments may need to bathe at least once a day in order to avoid BO, but to do it just because they enjoy it is a horse of another color. When I was young, pre WWII, we took a bath every Saturday night whether we needed it or not. This was so that when we went to church of Sunday we were as clean as a whistle....whatever that meant. I sincerely feel that most people overdo and exagerate the act of bathing.

That's reasonable because of your health conditions. True, in warmer countries, it is really necessary to take a bath daily because you'll definitely stink, be oily and gather germs if you don't.

I live in North Dakota, USA It's the second coldest state in the United States. I still take a shower every single day so that I feel clean.

I think that's still hygienic, given that you live in a cold country. I hear if the weather's freezing some people find it unnecessary to shower daily. However, if it's beyond three days, does that make your hair dirty?

I live in Italy. Here people do baths or take a shower following his habits. I prefer doing (in winter) a bath or a long shower twice per week. If I feel dirty I do it even daily if I need. In the summer, when we all sweat more, I take a shower more often, daily or two times per day!

I take a bath every day. I agree I think it is gross to miss a bath sometimes 2 times a day unless I am very sick and the I still take a wash rag with soap to get clean. It is sad and I know some people that do miss a day or two.

True. It is truly uncomfortable if you had not showered and you went straight to work. I won't able to concentrate on my job and it will lessen my productivity if I feel dirty.

I know i feel the same way you do. It's the same in my home country. They're not dirty ppl, they just don't think it's nessesary. I don't shower on Sundays because i usually don't go anywhere. I can't go anywhere without showering though. I'm not dirty but I just feel like I am.

I'm a college kid so I do miss the occasional shower here and there but usually I fit one in everyday. Even when I don't get a chance to take a shower I still at least wash my face because it's really oily and just feels gross when I wake up. But at least for the sake of the other kids in lecture I try and take a shower every day.

I think isnt advisable for me to have a straight bath in a cold place or country because I have easily get colds. Isnt matter to me because I see to it that I clean myself every morning of the day.

I can't stand missing a shower every day. I do have dry skin, but I just use lotion afterwards. It helps my skin, and I feel clean. My hair gets all icky if I don't wash it daily either.

What country you from? Philippines? Hehe same here. For me, taking a shower is really important and i would not dare myself to missed it like 3days straight? No way, it would be hard for me then if i'll give it a try, but no thanks. I always take a bath like 2x even 3x a day specially when its summer time. It's part of my daily routine and i cant live without taking a bath everyday. I am addicted with it! And there's nothing wrong with that. hehe Have a nice day ahead.
