I have a problem with being very tired most of the time. I sleep about 10 hours at night and am still tired. I have been seeing a sleep doctor and she is helping me to stay awake. Is anyone else tired a lot?

Hi ozzieblackcat. Do you have sleep apnea? Or maybe you are anemic. I'm glad to hear you are seeing a doctor. So many people don't. They wait too long and then it is harder to recover from whatever was ailing them. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks HerShe. I have some good days where I get things done and then I have days when I'm too tired to do much at all. My medication is helping though. Your name reminds me of chocolate! Thanks for your reply. :)

I am finding the opposite to be true. As I get older, I sleep less. Weird?

I always thought that's the way it was supposed to be but I seem to need a lot of sleep even though I'm older. Thanks for your reply. :)

Yes, it does sound like you could be Anemic. I hope you have been checked out to make sure you are OK. I know being Anemic is no fun, as I have to deal with that, but I have found some natural products I use now to help with this.

I used to sleep like 10 hours but not anymore. I guess because I am diabetic and when I have a high sugar level that's when I get sleepy even in the daytime.

Yes!! I have that same problem. What is your doctor doing for you? Please share! Some days I sleep 12 hours or more and am still sleepy. I feel like I'm sleeping my life away. Just recently my doctor has decided that while I am getting a lot of sleep, my sleep has not been good quality sleep. I've been having really disturbing dreams and I do toss and turn a lot (as can be proved by the state of my bed when I wake up). She's put me on sleep medication which makes me fall asleep quickly and sleep soundly for 8 hours. It seems to be helping some, possibly, and I don't feel as sleepy after I get up, but I still seem to be sleeping for too many hours at night.

Sleeping? No problem and need not worry about it. It may be because of your age. Most of the officers are doing the same thing in day time itself. Try to walk in morning hours and I hope that walking will solve your problem.
