i just recently broke up with my three year old boyfriend, which was of course never easy for me. i thought about such a decision for quite a long time since it was never easy for me to let go of him with the memories and time we spent together. to complicate things, i just don't see him as a lover but both as a brother and a friend, bestfriend even. it is only in him where i can confide everything, and that is everything. because of my reasons for such a decision, i hooked up with another guy whom i think is nice and sincere. and as far as i know him, things are fine with us. it is never because of this new guy of why i broke up with my x, it's the reasons i have that i know very well that me and my x can never get along well, as i have proven all those years we were in a steady relationship. if you are me, will you still continue giving your x another chance to work your realtionship over or move on with your life and give him the freedom he deserves?

In my opinion, if you truly believe that things could not be worked out anymore between you and your ex, I think it's best to set him free because things that are deemed to be unsolvable could lead to worse circumstances. I also think that you should give this new guy a chance. Relationships are really like that (until you get married). Trial and error. If in the end, you're still in love with your ex, then love will find a way and it will lead you back to him.
