I think my mother in law is spoiling my child coz he wants to give my son everything he wants.I know its not right.Could you tell me how to confront my mother in law without hurting her feelings.

I am a gramma, one of the joys in life that we have is spoiling our grandchildren. I think you should let her have her fun just as long as she doesn't go overboard. I don't want to tell you how to raise your child. I am just telling you from a grammas point of view. If she is going overboard then explain to her you don't want your child to be spoiled rotten. Is this her first grandchild and how old is your child?

Well,thanks for your wonderful advice i am really considering your words.My son is 4 years old and he is the 3rd grandchild in the family.I was thinking that shes just really fun of giving away gifts to my son but the thing is i was hurt most of the time coz my son gives more important to the things my mother in law gave him than the things im giving him.Maybe im just jealous but i just want my son to appreciate every little thing that i am giving him.

Don't worry about it, your momma. No one can take the place of you. One of the greateset gifts, you can give your child, is the encouragement of having a close relationship with gramma. My grandchildren say I am magic. They confide in me, I have a special bond with them. Sometimes I do think the mothers are sometimes jealous. My job is just to love them. I don't have to do the day to day stuff, with taking care of them.

its a grandma's job to spoil them! my kids are spoiled from both grandma's (my mom and my hubby's mom). you just let them, sis. we are the mothers still and no amount of grandma's spoiling is gonna take that away from us. as long as they dont go along the way like your mom-in-law telling your kids something thats putting you in a bad light, then thats another story.
