Do you think it is okay to discuss matters concerning death with a loved one?

There were times lately that I tell my mom how I want my burial and wake to be when I die. She is always scolding me everytime. I know she thinks its awkward but sometimes i really feel like I need to tell them what I want. Do you think I am being impolite? What can you say?
