Looks like BCCI want to play safe. Here is the 15 member Squad- Rahul(Cap),Sachin, Ganguly,YuvRaj,Sehwag,Dhoni, Irfan pathan,Harbhajan,Kumble,Zaheer,Agarkar,Munaf,Dinesh Karthic,Sreesanth and Robin Uthappa. Looking at the world cup squad it seems they've finally valued experience over the current form and performance; quite evident from inclusion of Sehwag ,Sourav and Irfan. The Team is expected to leave on Feb 28. However , I still feel that the team lacks confidence and it has not been performing as much as they can.In particular , the fielding has been pathetic for a while(now thats close to 2 years..), though now they have shown sign of improvement(Hmm.. good timing!!! ).Their performance has been , I think, decent but not up to the mark, even at home. The weakness what I sense is whether our the batting line up will it flourish under the West Indian bowlers and bowling conditions .Add to this the pace attack of Australia or South Africa which are definitely a formidable one.Time and again, consistency of our batsmen(especially our 'Big Guns') is what worries me. In retrospect ,Bowling has never been able to reach the glory our batsmen had brought.I just pin my hopes on the experience of Pathan ,Zaheer and Kumble and possibly Harbajan, who I feel will do thier trick when needed. The Bowling conditions of most WestIndian pitches do support pace Bowlers to a large extent, and sometime weather plays its part as a spoilsport or catalyst. On whole what I dont unerstand with BCCI is : Are they seriously gearing up the team for the WC matches and helping the team putting in serious practice. With 27 days to go for the big event, I still see India busy with an international series; Well... the players are not be blamed. Guys !! this depicts some sort of smugness.Do you remember the we used to take 15 -20 days off for our exam in school just to get that extra edge and max the exams! Well may be International Cricket doesn't work that way...may be I don't understand the game and the nitty- gritty of facing the Ultimate tournament of the game. But I still sense of impending gloom this World Cup season for the Indian team...For the first time I wish My intuition doesn't work.MAY THE FORCE BE with them. What do you think

I think only the "FORCE" can save this team from humiliation in the 2007 world cup. Its a farce in the name of a team, even a lowly Sri Lanka team humiliated the present team in home soil. The less said the better about this wheezing old squad the better. However, i propose Sehwag's selection as this year's "Believe it or not" entry from India. He sure has lot's of pals in BCCI, who just love him too... much and do not want to let go of him. Anyway may the "FORCE" be with them....LOL

Hi, your sense of impending gloom is justified taking into account that the consistently non performing virendar sehwag is chosen ahead of mohamed kaif, who is techically more sound, the best odi batsman when we toured the caribbean last time and a significantly better fielder than sehwag. You know, this sends wrong signals to other senior players, who may take their positions for granted even when don't perform well. When dada himself can be excluded from the team for subnormal performance, why not this chota? I repeat again, choosing sehwag is a bad omen. God save the indian team. We can do nothing but pray. Thanks.

team India - Its is always nice to see India win than to loose.
I would like to see VVS laxman in the team. I really think that he should play for the World Cup. At least he should have give couple of chances against Westindies or Srilanka to see if he is in good changes. There are lots of injuries in the team India especially with the fast bowlers. It would have been nice for team India to rotate the fast bowlers before and give adequate rest. This would have been helped the fast bowlers to be fit and without injury. Ovreall, there is not much surprise in the team for the world cup.

I think the squad for the WC is fine and would help India win the WC. if this team can't do it then GOD knows what will do it
