SriLanka has beaten India by 5 runs in the 2nd ODI, which India should have pulled off comfortably.Succumbing to the pressure created by some awesome bowling by visitors, India gave up hastily in the final overs. Do you think this series gonna help India prepare for the world cup? Or Do you think that the have been playing a lot of cricket just before the World cup and should've taken a break? Most Importantly, Will India continue its form against SriLanka in the World cup too?

Well its Not the First Time Whenevr Indian Team is near to Win,They Always Lost it. It Snaps us Everyone in Our Heart Whenever to See That they Have Lost the Series. As The World Cup i Wish They will Give Their Best Performance and Make it to the World cup to ReWrite History of Cricket.so We Should Cheer For Them as Much as We could.

any thing needs a long term preparation i dont know where was our team was heading from the last 4 years they tried some youngsters and then again they picked the similar squad as the wc 2003 then wat the indian team evolved in the past 4 years kick this politicians out of the bcci then only we may have succesful team to compete in the world cup may the next time here in 2011

friend! i think u have touched the roots of the problem and that was good reminder. The 2003 WC was n much different ..could it be that banking on the same squad is their only hope? I do ,sometimes, think that politics could be rampant in BCCI(shouldn't come as a surprise for it is one of the highest paying sporting body in country). Looks like the "experiments" with the squad is failure or was it all an eyewash??

Yeah i feel it is good to have some solid match practice it is much better than playing great shots in the nets. As playing in real match under pressure really shows what our side is made of. So it is esp. good that we are taking on Sri lanka now whom we are going to play in first round of world cup too. In the 2nd ODI I feel we lost the match due to inability of neither of our set batsman sachin, sourav, dhoni to make big scores are being well set as we all know how bad our lower order batters are and how bad our fielding is. I just hope now that our team works hard on it's fielding and all players try to perform at their optimum consistently.

Hmm well thats the point.consistency of our batsmen is a major concern...I think its could be difficult to improve it by playing continuous cricket... taking a break it might help.

if india keep this form, india will not be included in semifinal for their poor battig performances.dravid, dhoni, yuvraj, kartik and many more are strugling to find some runs.well, the bowlers are bowling horrible and they are getting the trashing from sri lanka, then imagine what is going to happen in world cup when they will face australia, south africa and new zealand.they simply cannot win the world cup.

Yeah it is a good thing for a stsrt up and warm up for the worldcup. But looking into the attitude of Indian player it does not seem that India is yet prepared for the worldcup. The game of Indian player in the last one day match shows the poor performance of Indian. They were about to win the match yet they loost from Srilanka. And it has been announced that same team is going for the Worldcup so if the trend continues then India is definitely going to loose all the matches.

This is surely going to bring down the morale of the team if india continue to perform the same way they did in the last match through the rest of the series. this could have been a gud platform for the world cup if they had been performing meticulously.if india continues this run aginst the other teams in the world cup also they dont stand many chances of reaching even the semi finals. they have up there levels of performance if they have to go a long way.

as playing real match under pressure we can show what our team is.we need not worry about srilanka coz we will any how be qualified to quarter finals and there we need not play against it.even when we play in league our team can beat it easily

i think needs to rest some players like sehwag and put in some other player in his place.india could hav won easily if some batsmen like dravid and sehwag could hav hit some more runs.i think india needs some break

I think this is gonna create more pressure that india can't finish things properly... I guess they should have been put in rest before world cup cause thats really important and indian team is playing a lot of matches continuously so I think those are going to world cup deserve to have few days rest so they can prepare themselves both mentally and physically....

To the best of knowledge in cricket Indians have played a lot of cricket this year and the series against srilanka and west indies before the world cup shall do a lot for those not in form. After the series against southafricans the indians come up well against west indies. The selection team has picked up a good team for the world cup.

ya you can say it but not as srilanka is the very good team but if they will lose they will try their best in the world cup

well according to me this is the best practise session indians team can have they can experiment and try prior to world cup, the player can retain the form before they lead for the larget championship of the world, well indians if they win the series the confidence level wld be high going to the world cup, similarly all players can have a good practise to the conditions prior playing the good matched in the world cup pitches. the team is doing well in terms of the bstting order, only few experiments requires as considered to the bowling side, we require good temper and line length from the medium pacer which wld help our strong point batting side to defend.

Yes , I think it was a series for preparing to World Cup. Not only for this series India this is for Sri Lanka team also. This series had special for India and Sri Lanka. This series has cleared that which team will be dark horse in World Cup. Because in this series both the team try to come in form ,Indian team is lucky that this team's five player in excellent form . They all are key of World Cup.
