Taking from Roman mythology... Mars is the God of War. While Venus is the Goddess of Beauty. If it says that men are from Mars, men are very strong... conquerors. Women on the other hand being associated with venus has someting to do with beauty. That no woman is ugly, for they are all descendants of Venus.

I did remember reading one book with the same title. I wasn't able to finish the whole book though. From what I can decipher, Men and women are as different as the mars and the venus. It stated that both had different personalities, and that men and women sometimes can't understand each other very well because of that. I'm not very well sure if what I stated is what the book is all about.

I haven't read the book yet,but i heard of it.I think it means the men and the women are different in many aspects, the ideas about relationship, the thingking ways, the hobbies and etc.But this is my view of point and i don't know whether it's the real meaning.I suggest you'd better read the book and you will definitely get it.
