Should surrogate(babymaker) motherhood be allowed and be paid?

A surrogate mother is a woman who carries and gives birth to a baby for another couple who is unable to conceive. The surrogate or babymaker will either carry the fertilized egg of the couple or have the male's sperm fertilize her own egg through surgical means. In some countries this is legal and the surrogate is paid in addition to the expenses incurred. While in UK, such payment is illegal and surrogacy is discouraged.

I do belive that this is a good thing. Why cant people "hire" someone to have their baby. It is not like the woman is getting rich and usually the woman just wanna help other people out. She might have kids herself. there are even people that enjoy beeing pregnant.. I see nothing wrong with it.

Surrogacy should definitely be allowed & I believe that compensation for time, effort, labor, etc should be allowed. A woman who is willing to give her body to help out should be able to be reimbursed for this in one way or another if the family she has agreed to do this for has discussed what they can afford. Adoption is ridiculously expensive and so is invitrofertilization.
