What car to buy in the uk?

I have just started to drive and im thinking of buying a car to start me off was wondering what sorta car would be ideal for a first time car?

My first car was a Vauxhall Corsa, just the right size to begin with. Nippy and reliable, it has seen me through five years of driving, economical too
