Fear of Flying

I'm just wondering am I the only person left in the world who is afraid to fly? To me, it seems like everyone else does it. They think I'm retarded or backwards because I don't fly. Hey, there is no breakdown lane up there. I would love to hear from other people who don't fly. I am not afraid of a ship, in fact, would love to go on a cruise. I think the idea of a cruise spooks my husband more than flying. He used to have to fly quite a bit for business. Personally, I think he coped by imbibing alcohol. I would definitely need to be drunk or loaded to get on a plane. Just wake me up when we get there. I want to go to England one day, so I guess I need to get over it (unless they build a bridge). :o) LOL

I dont think you are silly, everyone is afraid of something. I have only flown once - there and back and I loved it, it's the airport that scares me, if I had to get through customs and into the right place alone I'd never manage it. I'm scared of wasps and I sleep with the light on, how silly is that?

Bless you, I'm sure if we both had to we could deal with the airport perfectly well, it's 11 years since I flew too. I'm glad I'm not the only one needs a light on incase I wake up. Hugs

I don't think you are retarded... The airlines would have to pay ME large sums of money to fly. It just scares me... so much can go so wrong and land is soooooo far below me. Now... a cruise... THATS the way to travel!!!!!!

you are so right! A cruise is the way to go. I have never been. But I'm thinking it would be great. Except for all the food. I hear tell you have to diet before you go 'cause they feed you too much. So lose 10 pounds because for sure you will gain 10 pounds on the cruise. LOL. Thanks for your response. I'm glad there are others like me.

it's better to conquer your fear just like what i did!...before, i am afraid of heights!...i dont want to look down when im in a building!...it's scares me alot!...but when i've got the chance to conquer it because i dont have any choice!...me and my british cousin did the parasailing!...it's very relaxing and very refreshing!...it was a feet high from the sea water!...it is one of my happiest moment and memorable moment with him/them!...

I'm glad you conquered your fear and parasailing sounds like a blast. I'm also afraid of heights as well. But, how did you conquer your fear? Thats what I want to know!
