Reid will be off effective today until mid-March to attend to personal matters. Do you think he would have dared to do so if the team was in the Super Bowl (I know, I know, a dream!)? I know he's under stress and embarassed, but aren't these boys old enough to take care of themselves?

Who knows what goes on in Andy Reid mind, but all us eagles fan knows he is very smart and that he knows the eagles football team then anybody else, so whatever actions he takes with the eagles he does it for a good reason. Also there is alot of big brother icons(Trotter,Dawkins,Runyan, and Garcia) on the team that will look out for there teammates.

True...who do you think is going to be interim head coach then? Someone's got to speak for the team (remember, he put a gag order on Donovan there for a while). Of those, I would say Trotter (my former neighbor is a member of his church) or Dawkins (keeps the craziness on the field where it belongs). I wish Andy luck right now...it's going to be hard to fix this up (and both in the same day??? sheesh!)

I think he would have done this regardless of what situation his football team was in. What would you do if you were the father of those boys? Sure they made mistakes that they have to be held accountable for, but Andy is a family guy first, and he's doing what he feels he needs to. If he feels that he needs to take this time off to take care of his family, then I support him 100%. Who are we as fans to sit here and criticize him when we don't even know the full story?

I'm not criticizing him; he's got a job that can afford him the opportunity to take a leave when he needs to. The Eagles organization is rather tight and extremely family oriented as it is (I have a friend with them) and will support him no matter what's going on. I'm just surprised that it took him that long!
