With Valentine's Day fast approaching, tell me what's the most romantic thing that either you have done for someone else or that someone else has done for you? Are you planning a grand romantic gesture for someone this Wednesday? Perhaps even a proposal?

I wish I could do something grand and romantic, but my new sweetie is far way across the ocean, so at least I hope she knows I'm thinking of her.

I'm sure she does - and as they say it's the thought that counts.

hello there!. well valentines day is over but still i would like to share the most romantic thing someone has done for me.. well in so far the most romantic thing that someone has done for me is to love me as me and to love me truthfully. well i think that is enough as it is love which really is important in romance..

That's very true. Grand gestures are all very well but it's what's behind them that really matters. Thanks for your response.

The first Valentine's Day after my wife and I started dating, we were invited to her parents' church for a Valentine's supper. What none of the wives and sweethearts knew was that all the husbands and boyfriends had to bring their partner's favourite dessert to be served after the dinner. Well, my wife's favourite dessert is a Dairy Queen frozen cake, all chocolate ice cream with crumbled skor bar between the layers. No problem. The problem was that her parents' church was a two and a half hour drive away! Even in the middle of February, I was afraid that that cake hidden in the trunk of the car was going to melt before I could get it to a freezer! Luckily, the cake survived (I pretended I was too warm and kept asking her to turn down the heat in the car). I served her her cake, to her complete surprise and enjoyment, and married her that same year! :D

That's a nice idea - and the cake sounds great! Sadly I don't think we get them here.
