When someone else cooks, do you put salt on the food before you taste it??

This drives me nuts!! I used to spend hours making 3 course meals for my husband, only to have him put a ton of salt on everything BEFORE he even tasted it!! I would try new receipes and he never even knew what they tasted like. If it was not salt, it was hot sauce. I stopped cooking like that and started to just grill something and steam some veggies. After a few years of this....he STOPPED USING SALT!!! Now, I just don't feel like trying new receipes. needless to say, meal time at my house is boring!! Does this or has this happened to you??

I dont use salt - stopped using it years ago. But there are just some people that loves salt like that. I have a friend that puts salt on McDonald chicken nuggets (I had never seen anyone do that before) - but she is one of those people that put salt on everything. I usually have salt out and tell people to taste the food it may or may not need salt. This way they tast it first before loading it with salt and often times it is seasoned enough for them that they don't add any or just a dash or two.

No, I don't usually put salt on food (except maybe french fries). For me, I just don't think it is that healthy. I have had many friends over the years though that throw salt on pretty much everything that they eat... You name the food.. it got salted. Lately meal times at my house have gotten pretty boring too.. it seems like I just rotate the same five or six meals. I am thinking of investing in a new cookbook though to learn some new recipes. Give yourself some time.. maybe the creative cooking spark will hit you again in the future.
