What do you think about sororities?

I recently joined a sorority, last week, and I was wondering what people thought about sororities in general. I had a horrible experiance with formal recruitment, and on a whim (and invitation) I went to the informal recruitment. Informal recruitment was much better, but I was still tired of all the stress caused by sororities. I had the friends that wanted me in their sorority, then the other ones that did not like the other girls and wanted me in their sorority. It was confusing. I came to the conclusion that it is hard to get in one, but once you are in then it is smooth sailing. What do you think about sororities? Have your experiances been good or bad?
