What would you do in a situation

Talk to your manager, remind them that you requested that day off and see if there is anyway they can change the schedule. If they can't then the responsible thing to do would be to work. Another option is to tell them that you needed that day off and (remind them of when you requested it off) and tell them that you are very sorry but you are going to be unable to work that day. You'd be running the risk that you would lose your job though, so keep that in mind. It isn't any of their business why you need it off and in the future you should always just say "for personal reasons" if they ask why. You shouldn't lie and say it is something that it isn't...that can come back to bite you in the butt! Talk to the manager and hopefully they will be understanding and let you take that day off! If you had requested the day off and was approved back than you should point it out to the person. Remind them you had already asked for the time off in advance. I would just go if it had been approved. Besides you are doing her a favor by working time and days for that person. That is not right for her to turn around and expect you to work on the day you had requested off.So go and have fun at Mardi Gras for all of us that are unable to go.
