Dracula is loosly based on a trunsalvanian ruler named Vlad Tepish (aka Vlad the impaler ). His father was a member of the order of the dragon which is where he got his other sirname, Vlad Dracula ( Vlad son of the dragon ). In transalvania he's actually a hero. His stories helped to inspire Stokers book.

I believe there could possibly have been a person named Count Dracula that lived years ago. But I do not believe in vampires. That is purely fiction.
