I think cats are little obsessive with their prey. I have seen them taking time before the final kill. Sometimes it can continue for more than 30 minutes.

Mountain Lion (Felis concolor) Called the cougar as well, the mountain lion is one of America's most widespread predators. Like other cats, it hunts stealthy, stalking its prey and then, with a furious leap, bringing it down. While it can run nearly 50 miles per hour, the mountain lion rarely has cause to do so. It attacks in a rush, making for the neck of deer or other prey, striving to incur a fatal wound. Mountain lions are also remarkably strong, and on one occasion, a lion made off with a horse weighing nearly half a ton. All cats are morbid in their relentless pursuit and stalking techniques. Otherwise, Man is the most obsessive creature on the planet.

Not exactly sure what you mean by obsessive. Spiders build giant spider webs to catch prey but I mean thats not really obsessive its just a survival teqnique. I mean ALL animals are obsessed with eating so its not just one animal.
