I need to know what is a faster cpu. Intel or Amd? Name all variables that can affect the project.

I would say that at the present situation after the huge price cuts from both intel and AMD camps this year the entire processor market is going great and the winner is obviously the customers..... I think if a user is more budget oriented, then the AMD is processor is the best one for him as it has great motherboards for less prices and the integrated graphics is also better.... However if a user is performance oriented, then i would suggest the Core 2 Duo from Intel as it has higher performance and lower heat/power margins...... I were to choose between the two, currently i would choose a cheaper intel Core 2 Duo and overclock it to the extreme and then have the performance of a high end machine.....

well if you are at the usa, i am, most people who are new to computers will buy intel if you are selling or buying, if you are at a different country and you want to sell your pc, people will definetly only chose intel. for me intel is the best, newest, and fastest there new chip is intel 2 core duo, kicks other chips bumper, lol

well, after my review i would say that intel is faster , but both of them can be fast, here is why it couldn't be faster: i am sure that a intel pentium 4 cpu at 1.8 ghz is faster than a AMD (sempron, athlon etc) at 1.8 ghz, to me the intel processors are very powerful and fast, i will use only intel processors in the future, now all that i can afford is a 1.8 amd sempron processor ! ;)

both are fast!the model no: is what matters!intel 3ghz and amd 3000+ are almost equal!but amd is purely a 64 bit processor!
