It's not often that you buy a CD that's totally worth your hard-earned pennies so I'm curious to what people are buying these days.

I recently bought Regina Spektor's Begin To Hope. It's totally worth it. Now, I'm ever determined to hunt for her Soviet Kitsch album. But that's just me.

Even though anyone can download any music they want to these days I still like to walk into some small music stores and look at all the different artists they have. I was at a place recently called "Th Exclusive Company" and they have the best selection of any I know around where I live. So, I got to find 1 of the most fun punk bands that I remember from the 80's. I got a CD from a band called The Violent Femmes "Add It Up(1981-1993)". I don't know if you're from the states, but the new commercial from Wendy's for that new burger is a song from the Femmes. I got into them 'cuz they were from Milwaukee.

I don't actually buy much music anymore because I can usually just get it from someone I know for free, but the last album I purchased was Sam's Town by The Killers and it has been worth every single penny. It took a few times listening through it for it to grow on me, but now it's one of my favorite albums and I definitely recommend for everyone, even you didn't like Hot Fuss because they are two different sounds.

I'll admit, I do mostly free downloads now, as most CDs aren't worth buying, but in the last few months, I've found some that are absolutely worth the money and have bought them. If you like country, the new Jason Carroll CD is VERY good. (I think it's actually Jason Michael Carroll). His current song, Alyssa Lies, is making its way up the country charts. The new UFO, Monkey Puzzle smokes...It's the classic "Lights Out", "No Heavy Petting" line-up, minus guitarist Michael Schenker. Vinnie Moore has stepped in on lead guitar, and is amazing. If you like your music a bit heavier, say in the vain of Iron Maiden, I just got turned on to a band called Tribuzy. Their CD Execution came out in 2005, but I just found out about it a few days ago when a friend gave me a copy...Even though my copy is good, I'll definitely be purchasing this one in the near future. This guy, Renato Tribuzy, has gotten a killer band together with some great guest singers and musicians including Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske, Matt Sinner, and many others. Probably more information than you wanted, but those are some of the better ones I've bought recently.

I am soooo excited. I do not buy CD's very often, but I just bought from ebay Crush by Bon Jovi, and Greatest Hits by Dan Fogelberg!! 2 of my favorite artists. I know they are oldies, but actually not that old. I can't wait to receive them.
