I just read a post on mylots that this young girl took some clothing to a church charity resale shop to donate some used clothing, which i think that was a good thing.she wears a pentant around her neck, and when the man that took the clothing from her saw the pendant,he threw the cloths down, and she was spit on...This was a church charity resale shop, instead of accepting the clothing they said they did not want any of her filthly demon cloths..She also stated that she was of the pagan religion..Regardless of that did you think this was a proper attitude toward her? Could you please explain to me what the pagan religion is? I have no idea..

Since someone else already gave an explanation of what paganism is, I suppose I don't really have to do that. I will say a couple things on the matter though. Pagan is an umbrella term for a whole group of religions. Usually pagan religions are polytheistic, worshipping multiple deities, both male and female. The pagan religions come from all over the world, and are mostly based on older beliefs that were held by people before Christianity swept the world. It's quite a generalization to say that "all pagans" believe anything, but there is a tendency to emphasize the importance of nature and personal responsibility. It isn't hard for me to believe the incident you spoke of. I grew up pagan in Kentucky, which is largely very fundamentalist Christian. I had a very hard time growing up. For a while kids in my class made it a habit to throw Bibles at me in school. Teachers and other adults often told me that I and those who taught me my religion were all "going to Hell". I even suffered physical violence over it. I wish I had known then that there was something I could do about it, but everyone around me just told me they couldn't do anything, even the police. I do feel badly for this poor girl, who was trying to do a good deed, and was punished for it by a very stupid and cruel person.

I mean the kids is one thing - still not acceptable by any means but unfortunately thats kids for you - but the teachers as well?! That is absolutely sick! sick and twisted IMO....I really dont know how ppl like that can look themselves in the mirror each day and like what they see KNOWING full well they've been cruel to a child....

Yep, I'm serious. As an adult I can't imagine myself treating any child that way, whatever their religious beliefs. It was just ridiculous. Like I said, I wish then I had known that there was something I could do about it, but when it's the people teaching you who are doing it, who's going to teach you how to find back? These days I rest easy in the thought that I don't like there anymore, and never will live there again. And if anyone tried to treat my child that way, may the gods have mercy on them, for I will not.

That's supposed to be "fight back" not "find back". Bleh.

Well I will talk about that guy's attitude only in this post. I wouldn't link his rude and stupid behaviour to the fact he's a Christian, since Christianism is not intolerant on itself. Nowadays Christianism is far from those dark ages we had in Europe some centuries ago. However, there are still some fundamentalistic groups that behave as if they were in the Middle Ages, many of them placed in Southern USA. What he did was a shame, but i wouldn't give it much importance to be honest. That girl knows she didn't do anything wrong and that's what matters.

Oh no i know his attitude was not because he was a christian,he was posing as a christian, because if he were a true christian he would never have acted that way.I know and she knows she did nothing wrong, its just the fact of his attitude with her and he was suppose to be a christian,It made people who really are a christain a bad reputation, thats all im saying..Thank you for your response

I'm just a bit curious as to why you started a thread instead of posting in the thread you are discussing....

I was reading at all the responses and I glad learn that I belong to Pagan christianity group. Nevertheless, I am happy with my religion what ever it is and I will never change to any religion if ever it was a pagan religion for we dont interpret it in the community of religion we belong, but I am more on what a person I am in relation to God. It is apparent that in my choice of religion, still many are lost and commit sin as they like but it is still not the point to change belief. what is important is your relationship with your God , that God is good in every way and you to be good as well. The case of the girl being spat upon donating some clothes, where the man who spat at her is a classic example of hypocrites within that kind of religion. I accept that I do sin my self, I myself is a hypocrite to others and I accept that, for nobody haven"t sinned. But we tend to limit the best we can. God Bless you all.

Ok first off I think the pagan religion is where people worship other idols. Now I could be wrong. I am a born again Christian and I really dont think any Christian should act the way that man did. I believe in heaven and hell. My religion teaches me to love everyone and to tell every one about salvation and saving themself from the pits of hell. In my eyes that man just sent that poor girl to hell. He should have witnessed to her. I do know God will judge him for that if he is even saved. That makes me so mad. I wish i could have been there.

hi bicklelady,I am a christian also, but he did not show a christian spirit when he did this to that girl, thats the point i was trying to make, regardless of my belief,i think we have a christain duty to show love to all people regardless of their faith......I am and was raised Pentecostal and I would never do that to anyone. This girl being of the pagan religion showed a better spirit,by donating to a christain resale than he did,and to call himself a christian? I do believe he needs to repent and pray through over that one...I just felt so bad for her,and it makes me mad when some one acts like this and has the brass to be called what i call myself.Im sure you underatand..and thank you !

Pagan is a generic term for non popular religions. Most are some form of Wicca. Most of our holidays are based on Pagan religions. Christmas and Sunday are 2 pagan days that a lot of people didn't know were pagan holidays. As far as what happened. Christians often forget the bible only using it for bland quotes to justify their actions. This is a perfect example of Mary getting stoned. Didn't he say "He who hath no sin throw the 1st stone?" I think before christians react this way they should try to teach people before they push them away. What they did is made sure that person will never devote her life to christ.
